Chorlton Villa Vs Firswood 13/12/09 « Result #1 on Dec 13, 2009, 10:01pm »
11 - 2 win in pretty poor conditions, good result in my book and a fairly good performance. We looked very dangerous down the wings with Critch and Lowe putting in good performances. Many chances created again and some good passages of play. I did sense a bit of complacency within the team and we need to be wary of this. Also a couple of sloppy moments cost us two goals. In a game where the guys at the back pretty much dominated there territory.
Special mention for Dunny who maintained his frankly unbelievable scoring record from midfield. Also Rick who managed to get a rare goal even though he was claiming for a corner lol.
My man of the match Ant lowe good display in two position and a ha trick to add to his impressive tally. I was also pleased with the quality off the bench Neil and Craig both doing there caused no harm.

Well pitch conditions were terrible. Conditions are getting so bad now that it is near impossible for us to play our football, to the level we would like to.
We needed to show hard work and guts. We just about had enough after throwing away a two goal lead, we managed to kick on create some good chances including one chance that was taken by critch with 15 to go.
In the cold light of day the result was a good one with two of the chasers, river and dynamo getting beat in bad conditions. River were beaten by Celta who we beat 18-0 in perfect conditions just shows you how much the conditions can play a part.
Nobody really likes playing in a mud bath except maybe Rick Mills but maybe we can push on if we keep winning other team may slip up as games inevitably become tighter.
All in a a good result and decent performance. My man of the match Mark Crithley worked tirelessly as usual and took on-board the comments about being clinical chipping in with two. Taking him joint top of the scoring charts with myself on 9 well done mark, a great achievement from midfield predominately.
Just like to say a big thank you to Ronnie Mills who once again proved himself to be a winner in his short time with us. I am sure i speak on behalf of everyone when I wish Ronnie all the best with his new club Burnley FC.
On the other hand with Matt at the helm and a strong squad with strong characters, I am sure Ronnie would agree it should not effect our success this season.

Strange game in which River had control of the ball but we created the better chances on a very muddy pitch.
Would just like to say in my opinion it wasn't effort that let us down and lads all worked very hard. Unfortunately when the chips are down in big matches you have to pick the right pass in the final third and take your chances. Something we failed to do on the day.
There is hell of a long way to go boys we must get back to winning ways straight away. Still the league and cups to play for WHO is hungry for silverware? Time to stand up and be counted.
Captains man of the match for me was Rick mills, changed the game.

Well 3-0 win in very tough conditions under foot. Positives were we won and kept a clean sheet without ever coming out of 3rd gear.
Negatives were the passing was really bad and we were to far apart as a unit. Some questioned peoples fitness and application.
Credit to the opposition who put tons of effort into the game and probably deserved to get a goal.
Special mentions for Capper great debut with some stunning saves. More pleasing to me was he also did the bread and butter of keeping well. Great addition to the squad.
Also special mention for Ricky the Grunter Chud another great performance under severe pressure at times. The Defence managed to keep a clean sheet for the third match in row, good stuff.
We need to up our games boys we do not have divine right to win, we must earn the right to play.
Captains man of the match goes to Chud with Capper just missing out. However I am sure there will be plenty of man of the match awards for Capper in the future.

Apologies for the delay in the captains report. I have been a bit under the weather this week and couldn't bring myself to do it.
Well 5-0 win in really bad conditions is a good result in anybodies book. Wes continued his good form at the back with us keeping consecutive clean sheets. Something that pleases myself and the manager greatly.
First twenty Min's of the game was pretty bad to be honest as we struggled to find out feet in the conditions. We must start well as in other games we would be behind.
That said good result and my man of the match goes to Cass for hard working to goal display on his return to the starting line up. A great example to everyone in the squad on how to wait for your chance in the team and take it. Well done Cass!

Another win 4 - 0 good result on paper and a clean sheet which is a massive plus for us. As stated previously its how we defend as a team which will govern how successful we are this season.
In regards to performance as with so many of our better performances the pitch was pretty good for a Sunday match. This lead to some decent football in patches and some great goals. I feel we still have extra gears to click into but this will come in time.
Man of the match I struggled with again good performances from myself, Critch and Wes. Adam also maintained his scoring ratio of one a game. Well done Adam your looking a great addition to the squad.
In the end I have awarded my man of the match to Wes a great performance in an area he wouldn't pick himself in. A great example to the rest of the squad of the type of commitment and self sacrifice it takes to win things.
Also in addition to Ron's comments I would like to second that people need to channel the frustrations in the correct way, to the manager. Its a squad game remember boys we will all have our opportunities or you can choose to play every week for a lesser team. Your call boys, I know I would rather fight for my place in a good team than not challenge myself in a poor team.
